We are! Your friends,neighbors, co-workers and more, We are first and formost Christians, and followers of Jesus Christ. We are also one of the largest Protestant denomiations in the US -We are part of the Methodist Movement, founded by John and Charles Wesley around the time of the Revolutions in the US and France, born from the Anglican/Episcopal churches, and greatgrandchild of Roman Catholicism- the Wesleyan movement traces its linage to Jesus of Nazareth, through these great sister religions - it is part and parcie of our belief that we are to respect and work with other faiths and other traditions. Like other large organizations we are organized into smaller, administrative territories called confrences and districts: 

We here at Goham UMC are part of the Upper New York Conference and the Finger Lakes  District.  The Upper New York Confrence is defined as " With more than 144,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 865 local churches and 91 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state.  Our district, the Genesee Valley District is comprised of  " 80 churches in the Rochester/Genesee Valley region, where there is a United Methodist Church within 5 miles of almost everyone.
